Fort Saskatchewan Facility

Cielo is planning to design and develop a full-scale production facility on the site at Fort Saskatchewan. This site includes 60-acres and will host both the Research and Development Centre and full-scale waste-to-fuel facilities.

Cielo is planning to build a full-scale Fort Saskatchewan Facility with specific design features and overall economic metrics that will be determined based on data from the Research and Development Centre as well as the operational characteristics observed at the Aldersyde Demonstration Facility. With 60-acres of land available, the footprint for this property supports the construction of multiple facilities.

Once the initial testing and engineering data analysis, utilizing wood biomass from the Research and Development Centre, concludes we plan to commence concept work and front-end engineering design for the full-scale Facility. Cielo then intends to construct the full-scale Facility with specific capacity design, production rates, product revenue streams, operating costs, capital costs and overall economic metrics determined based on data from the Research and Development Centre as well as the operational characteristics observed at the Aldersyde Facility. Contemplation of the design engineering of the Fort Saskatchewan Facility is expected to commence in Q4 2022.

Cielo is currently targeting the construction of:
  • Wood biomass processing facility capable of producing approximately 4,000 lph* of fuel.
  • Processing facility utilizing plastic as the feedstock generating approximately 4,000 lph* of fuel.
* Final capacity of each facility to be determined utilizing data from R&D Facility
We anticipate that components of the facilities will be integrated to effectively manage capital costs.
Cielo will build both Fort Saskatchewan 100%-owned facilities and seek opportunities to partner with waste producers and fuel/product consumers seeking low carbon alternatives.
